1 · Who we are

The SimFather is TheSimFather LLC, one company. There are no subsidiaries and no affiliated entities. The evaluation, the funded accounts, the tools and the payouts are all run by that one company.

We are not a broker, not a sportsbook, and not a contest operator. We do not take bets, we do not hold your money, and we do not run the contests your entries are graded against. We are not affiliated with or endorsed by DraftKings or any other contest operator, and we are not affiliated with Statyx, whose reference data we license. Where an operator's name appears here it is describing what our tools work with, nothing more.

2 · What you are buying

The Lineup Generator. It builds lineups on the day's real slates, for the contests you enter yourself, with your own money, on DraftKings or FanDuel. We are not a contest operator and you do not enter anything through us.

Funded is the other product and it is not open. The rest of this section describes it, because people who are part-way through an evaluation are still bound by it.

A monthly subscription. It gives you a simulated balance, the real upcoming slates, and a set of rules to clear.

Nothing you enter is a real contest entry. No money of yours is ever at risk inside the evaluation, because the balance is not money and it is not yours.

Clear the rules and you are funded: a larger simulated balance and the same real slates. Funded players on a plan are then ranked against each other, and the ones who finish highest split that plan's prize pool, paid in real money. You are not paid a share of your own simulated profit. The balance stays simulated at every stage, including after you pass. Only the payout is real.

The subscription is the only thing you pay. You cannot lose more than that, and you can never end up owing us money. The most this can cost you is the month you paid for.

3 · What a simulation can and cannot tell you

The slates, the salaries, the lock times and the box scores are real. Your entries are not. They are never placed with any contest operator. After the games finish, your lineup is scored on the real box scores. Its finish is then read against a reference field: a set of lineups we build for that slate and freeze before lock, with a published fingerprint, so the bar cannot move once the games are played. The virtual payout comes from a published contest template with a fixed field size, payout table and rake, and it is capped per entry.

That is a close simulation and it is still a simulation. Your entry was never in a real field, so it never changed one. It took no prize money from anyone, and nobody had to give up a seat you would have taken. Because the slates are real games that have not been played yet, there is no hindsight in the exercise, but a reference field is a model of a contest, not a contest.

The largest gap is not in the arithmetic. Simulated play carries no financial risk, and holding to a plan while your own money moves against you is a real part of doing this that no simulation can test.

No result here predicts what a real entry would do. Passing an evaluation does not mean a real contest entry would have finished the same way.

4 · Most people will not pass

Most people who take an evaluation will not pass it. That is not a sales angle, it is what a profit target and a drawdown floor add up to. Daily fantasy works the same way: a small number of entrants take most of the prize money and everyone else pays for it.

We would rather say that here than have you find it out at the end of a window.

5 · Pass and payout rates

Funded has not run long enough to have pass and payout rates worth publishing. When it has, they go here and they get updated every year, whatever they say.

Until then, assume passing is hard. It is built to be hard.

5b · How the prize pool works, and who you are competing with

You are competing against the other participants, not against us. Each month, a fixed prize pool is set aside out of that month's subscription revenue for your plan, and it is divided among the participants who finished highest. We do not have a position on how you personally do.

That is deliberate, and it is worth being blunt about why. If the company profited when you failed, the company would have a reason to want you to fail. It does not. The pool is decided before anybody is scored, it does not shrink because people did well, and it does not grow because people did badly.

The flip side is the part people do not like hearing: because the pool is fixed and only the top fifth of a field is paid, most participants in any month will be paid nothing. Being up on your starting balance is not enough. Other people have to have done worse than you.

There is no wagering here, no odds, no stake at risk, and no way to deposit money to play. Balances, entry fees and profits inside Funded are simulated and have no cash value. The only real money is the subscription you pay and the prize pool paid out of it.

6 · Where the money should come from

Only use money you can afford to lose without anything in your life changing. Never pay for this out of a retirement account, student loan money, a second mortgage, an emergency fund, or money set aside for rent, food, medical care, education, or anyone who depends on you.

Daily fantasy should be entertainment. Set your limits on time and money before you start, not during. If it stops being entertainment, stop.

7 · Who can play, and where

You must be at least 18, and at least 21 in some states. We check your age against the rule for the state you tell us you play from.

The Lineup Generator, which is what is on sale, is not sold to anyone in these five states:

Hawaii, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, Washington.

Funded, which is not open, excludes four more: Connecticut, the District of Columbia, Louisiana and Oregon.

Louisiana allows paid daily fantasy in some parishes and not in others. We check at the state level and cannot see parishes, so we refuse the whole state rather than take money from someone in a parish that voted it down. That is stricter than the large operators and it is deliberate.

Eligibility is checked when you make an account, again before you can pay, and again before any payout is sent. If you give us a state you are not actually in, we can refuse the payout.

8 · Your subscription

The subscription renews every month until you cancel it. You can cancel any time from your account page. Access runs to the end of the period you already paid for, and a partial month is not prorated.

Card payments are handled by Stripe. We never see or store your card number.

9 · No advice, and no promises

Nothing on this site is financial, investment, tax, legal or betting advice, and nothing on it is an offer or a recommendation to enter any contest anywhere.

Projections, ownership estimates and simulations are opinions and estimates. They are not predictions. We will not tell you a lineup is going to win, because nobody can tell you that. Past results do not predict future results.

What you do with real money anywhere else is your decision, and the outcome is yours.

10 · Results other people show you

Any result, screenshot, quote or leaderboard finish from a customer on this site is that one person's result. It is not typical, it is not a promise, and it does not mean you will do the same. We publish results we can back with a screenshot and nothing else.
